HammerSmith is proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2022 Historic Druid Hills Home & Garden Tour Friday, April 29, through Sunday, May 1st. This year’s Tour is part of Olmsted 200, a commemoration of the life and legacy of Fredrick Law Olmsted, designer of the historic Druid Hills neighborhood.
In addition to being the Presenting Sponsor of this year’s Tour, HammerSmith is proud to present the featured home at 1741 South Ponce de Leon Avenue. This gracious 1930s Druid Hills estate home is perfectly situated on 1.4 acres overlooking the Olmsted Linear Park. After years of deferred maintenance and odd renovations (such as an 8-person hot tub in the kitchen), the new owners hired HammerSmith to configure the home with a more open floor plan for their growing family. Without adding any square footage, HammerSmith was able to move a maze of walls, hallways and small rooms to create the stunning home it is today.

HammerSmith has completed over 100 projects in Druid Hills and knows all about the intricacies of the historic review process, city/county zoning challenges and special permitting issues. From a post-Hollywood renovation of the Driving Miss Daisy house and a full renovation of Paideia’s Neil Reed mansion for the Half-Day Program, to the current wave of carriage house apartments, home offices, media rooms, wine cellars, gyms, pools, fireplaces, terraces and gracious outdoor living, HammerSmith has long been recognized as the Druid Hills design/build expert.
