Three Steps to a transformed lifestyle: 


Warner McConaughey, founder and president of HammerSmith, meets with you in your home to discuss the scope of your project, possible design solutions and a realistic budget.  We discuss your feelings and frustrations, your favorite spaces, and the rooms that bring you the most joy.  We present a fixed-price Conceptual Contract to begin the design process. Our design team listens to your ideas and works with you, exploring all aspects of your home and the way you want to live, and presents various design solutions considering your budget parameters. The ideas are then synthesized into one unified conceptual plan.


When you are ready to move from broad, conceptual ideas to actual working drawings, an hourly Development Contract is signed.  This phase develops the conceptual plan three-dimensionally, including important details, cabinets, finishes, fixtures, and lighting.  A project manager is assigned to your project, and in-house craftsmen and associate tradesmen begin on-site inspections. We look at energy efficiency and the environmental footprint, low voltage and A/V needs, furniture and furnishings. HammerSmith develops the finalized drawings, scope of work, and specifications for your approval.


A detailed construction schedule and final pricing are prepared and the Renovation Contract is presented for your approval. Because we reserve a project manager for your project during the design process, construction usually begins within a week or two of contract signing. The design team is held on retainer during construction and is available for regular on-site visits to inspect design execution and assure a smooth progression from blueprint to build-out.
