While large bathrooms offer plenty of design options, their very size can sometimes be a challenge. Breaking down the volume into smaller zones, all partially hidden from each other, can inject an element of drama and introduce a more comfortable scale. This was the case with this remodeling project, carried out by Eric Rothman from design and remodeling company HammerSmith. A contemporary makeover was needed, but one that avoided a sterile, clinical feel. Separating the large room into discrete areas, to create more personal zones, proved to be key.
